This beginner group course is structured in four independent terms,
with one lesson per week and a realistic pace for adult learners.

Together, the four terms cover all 12 chapters of Genki I.
 

Designed specifically for adults living and working in Europe, this course prioritizes:
 

  • Clear structure and realistic pacing

  • Practical communication for daily life and travel

  • Consistent progress with just one lesson per week


By completing the full course, you will reach a level equivalent to JLPT N5.

Learn Japanese at a Sustainable Pace

Designed for Adult Beginners in Europe

This course is ideal if you:

  • Are starting from zero and want clear explanations in English

  • Prefer structured weekly progress in a small group

  • Want to build reading, writing, and speaking skills systematically

  • Plan to continue toward JLPT N5 level

Our Beginner program follows a structured curriculum using Genki I, ensuring steady and measurable progress.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the all courses (4terms), you will be able to:​​

  • Read & Write: Hiragana, Katakana, and approximately 145 Kanji.Use Core Vocabulary: Master around 400–500 essential words for everyday situations.

  • Communicate with Confidence: Talk about yourself, daily routines, shopping, travel, health, and personal experiences.

Understand Japanese Grammar: From polite basics to casual conversation and natural explanations.

Curriculum Overview

A beginner-friendly curriculum designed to help you speak Japanese with confidence.

Beginner 1 — The Essentials (Chapters 1–3)

Themes: Identity, Shopping, Basic Actions You build the absolute foundation of Japanese.

You will be able to: Introduce yourself clearly, ask prices and shop with confidence, and talk about your daily routine.

Beginner 2 — Action & Interaction (Chapters 4–6)

Themes: Existence, Description, Requests You unlock core grammar that makes Japanese flexible and useful.

You will be able to: Describe places and locations, express likes and dislikes, make polite requests, and ask permission.

Beginner 3 — Casual Conversation (Chapters 7–9)

Themes: Family, Informal Speech, Thoughts You move beyond textbook Japanese and start speaking naturally.

You will be able to: Speak casually with friends, express opinions and quote others, and describe people and situations in detail.

Beginner 4 — Nuance & Experience (Chapters 10–12)

Themes: Comparisons, Travel, Health Your Japanese becomes more expressive and personal.

You will be able to: Compare options and explain preferences, talk about past experiences, explain situations, and give advice.

Required Materials

Please purchase the following 3rd Edition books before the first lesson:

  • Genki I: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese (Textbook)

  • Genki I: Workbook (Mainly used for homework)

Joining Mid-Course

New students may join from Beginner 2, 3, or 4.

  • A solid understanding of the previous content is required.

  • Please contact us before registering to check availability and discuss your level.

Important Policies

Course Cancellation A minimum number of participants is required to run the course.

  • If this number is not met, the course will be cancelled and a 100% refund will be issued immediately.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • More than 7 days before the first lesson: 100% refund

  • 3–6 days before the first lesson: 50% refund

2 days or less before the first lesson: No refund
